Concept discussion and wardrobe test with Orion

Well readers, I come to you with good news and bad news. To-day I met up with Orion to plan out some future photoshoots. He had a great concept for a Fallout cosplay, and he had previously made himself a really cool costume for Halloween, so we tried a wardrobe test to see how it looked on me. He and I are about the same size, it should have been okay...right? Nope! He made it for himself a couple years ago when he was heavier, and I was totally swimming in it. Haha! Nothing fit, all the accessories were CONSTANTLY falling off. It was hilariously awful. Derp!

Orion said "Haha, you look like a little girl trying on her dad's work clothes"
and he was correct

Wardrobe test, in summary:

Them:
"So, how'd the wardrobe test go?"

Me:

I really wanted to do this shoot, and Orion was excited about it too...until we saw how the jumpsuit fit. :P I posted a decent shot (crouching, which hid some of the jumpsuit's size) from the wardrobe test to dA as stock, and it was incredibly well received.

Although the jumpsuit can't be saved, the good news is that the accessories and props can most likely be adjusted to my tiny limbs after some tweaking, so that part of the costume can probably be salvaged. I'll be searching the local thrift shops for a blue jumpsuit that fits me to make into a costume. Who knows, maybe I'll get really lucky and come across an actual Fallout jumpsuit in the Halloween costume section later this year. So, the good news is that I WILL be doing a Fallout shoot eventually, but for right now it's on a back burner, unless I come across the perfect jumpsuit in a thrift shop early. We'll see how it goes! :)

Besides the Fallout wardrobe test, which, as one of my friends put it, wasn't a fail, it was one step closer to success, we went over some other photo concepts. Orion and I shared some visions, and bounced ideas back and forth. It was a really productive day! We discussed a ton of different potential collaborations, but we actually finalized and planned two photoshoots for May, one on the 5th and one on the 18th. :)

One of the progressive things we did was test out different kinds of body paint, both for a shoot we finalized for May 18th and a potential one later down the line. I won't reveal too much, but the shoot scheduled on the 18th will involve pretty much total body white body paint...and a full head mask.

EDIT:  Orion's currently ill. :( We're both going on 1-2 week vacations, first him then me, so our shoot planned for the 18th has been moved to July 6th.

Almost full coverage bodypaint will take quite awhile to do, so between painting and shooting, it'll definitely be an all-day event. I'm totally looking forward to it! :D

The photoshoot for May 5th is a slightly dark conceptual shoot, the original idea was mine and fine details were tweaked by Orion. It's an idea that I've been wanting to bring to life for awhile, so I'm thrilled it's finally coming to be! You'll see photos from it uploaded the following week, along with a blog post about what both shoots mean to me.

All in all, it was a very productive day, and I had a great time! :) Very excited for future projects!

Love,
Queen Werandra
