Happy spring, readers! :D
The first barefoot outdoor photoshoot is always a milestone for me each year, it means it's finally getting warm again! Spring means things are starting up and in motion for Summer, which is always my busiest and most productive season.

I got this beautiful yellow jacket as a gift, and I loved it. The bad news is that it juuust fit, so there's a chance I might eventually outgrow it as I fill out. However, the good news is that pretty much immediately after getting it, the perfect idea for its use was born, and Mother Nature was happy to comply with the concept. The timing was perfect, with the limited window of when certain plants are blooming.
Since this shoot was very simple and the idea just kind of fell into my lap, I didn't have any specific set locations in mind. I told Mum what to look out for, and we set off, driving around and scoping out out the perfect spot as we went. Part of my original idea was to find a large patch of daffodils, but long story short, we didn't find what I was visualizing in a good location. However, the other part of my idea, seeking out large forsythia bushes, manifested wonderfully.
As we drove around, we were also blessed with an opportunity to use a HUGE lovely magnolia tree! I've never seen one as big or as beautiful as that one. It was on someone's property, so I knocked on the door to ask if a photoshoot with the tree was okay. The elderly gentleman that lived there was absolutely thrilled that someone else was going to be enjoying the tree as much as he did, and was more than happy to share. He was telling us how every morning he looks out his window at her, and just says "thank you" to God for the wonderful gift. He was also telling us how excited he was to see his grandchildren on Easter. What a delightful soul, he was so happy, and his joy was pleasantly contagious. :)
That BEAUTIFUL tree! <3 |
Although the shoot was simple, the majority of the pictures turned out nice, and the ones that didn't turn out as well as others proved to be a learning experience. I quite enjoy driving around with Mum and finding the perfect locations. It was a wonderful opportunity, and I'm very thankful.
Here's to many more photoshoots and artistic endeavors this year, welcome Spring!
Love,
