You see me doing this pose quite often, because photographers always say "Hold up your webbings!" |
As every year, I had a great time at the Spoutwood Fairy Festival! <3 It was a cold and muddy day, so cold in fact that I had to wear boots, but still fun, and luckily it didn't rain when I was there. As soon as I got in I made a beeline for my favourite booth (they always sell awesome clothes at very low prices), bought an adorable gypsy jacket, then made the rounds to the other booths and socialized a bit.
After I had seen all there was to see, I set up, put my tail on, and sat on a wall for about two hours. SO many people of all ages took photos of and with me! I handed out all the cards I brought, and I brought a very generous stack. Next time I'll bring even more. I really enjoyed the positive attention, and it was great publicity. Even though I was just sitting for the majority of the festival, it was SUPER fun, I'm so glad I brought my tail! Totally bringing it to all the other other fairy festivals as well, too much fun! <3

I also got to meet up with perhaps my favourite fairy festival character- Wotan the FairySmasher! He's awesome and so fun to interact with, I always look forward to seeing him. :) I asked for a picture and he scooped me up off the wall, spouting all kinds of jestful violent threats as he did so. However, I'm sure smart enough not to threaten a siren for real ;) We have a lot of fun whenever we see each other.
I also got to meet Twig the Fairy! She doesn't speak, but she's such a cutie. :) She got excited when I came over, and gave me a beautiful little glass blob in the shape of a fish. I love it! Thanks Twig!
At one point there was a glitter fight between some of the festival staff near the wall where I was sitting. I was given a glitter bomb (an eggshell cleaned out, filled with glitter, then taped at the top). A few minutes after it was over, a staff member that was late to the party walked up. Someone said to him, "You missed the glitter fight!". I butted in with "No, he didn't!", as I chucked my glitter bomb at him. It hit him and exploded. He walked up to me, pretended to want a hug, then cracked two glitter eggs over my head. Joke's on him, I thought it was an improvement. More glitter is always welcome! ;) It was all done in fun, such a lovely, friendly atmosphere.
I think Spoutwood is my favourite local fairy festival. Looking forward to next year, and all the other fairs and festivals this year! <3
