I had a lot of fun with this shoot! :D It was this year's first barefoot outdoor photoshoot, and the first photoshoot (ever) where each of the individual shots was edited to the point where it doubles as a finished piece, even though it's available to be used as stock. This was mainly because a lot of the shots were really good angle and pose-wise, but terrible lighting-wise. I discovered this new method/style of editing that makes the images dark, dramatic, and sort of...soft. I've seen the style before, and I LOVE it. I very recently figured out how to do it, and I'm super happy about that! I consider this a pretty big step forward.
Anyway, as I was editing the pictures to try to mend them, I had a thought: if the stock version is straight off the camera or only edited enough to look decent, and the finished pieces* look really nice (referring to ones that are just "touched up"/lighting corrected- not too heavily edited), why not skip a step, and only upload the ones that look the best? The result was a photoshoot I'm very proud of. :)
EDIT: I have since added a few more heavily edited pieces into the "finished" category, but they are very different than the stock versions. They will be uploaded in a few days.
I'm very happy with this shoot, as I've been planning it ever since I got my mermaid tights. :) I will definitely be using this river setting again for future photoshoots. I'm going to get some full mermaid pictures there, too! That'll be nice. I'm so glad to have such a lovely setting accessible, and that my awesome Mum is willing to take such nice pictures of me. Yay! :D
Until next time!
Love,
Queen Werandra
PS: I didn't add the "mermaid" tag to this post since, while this shoot it somewhat related to mermaids, I'm not in my tail or in character as my mersona. Let me know if you think I should add that tag, and why.
